Months of Guiding Available

January is the heart of our fish house rental season.  It is a great month to pursue walleye, jumbo perch, crappie, bluegill and big northern pike.

February we continue to offer fish house rentals.  This is your last and best chance at that trophy northern pike or walleye.  The pan fish bite continues, but to add to the list are cisco and eelpout.

March will bring the ice house rentals to a close and with it some of the best jumbo perch, eelpout and cisco fishing of the year.  Bluegill and crappie are also in the eating mood as long as you can keep quiet.

April is the end of our ice fishing season and the beginning of our open water fishing.  The jumbo perch, bluegill and crappie we give our full focus this month.

May starts off with crappie, bluegill and suckers providing the most action. In mid May the pike and walleye season is kicked off.  The Minnesota pike and walleye opener on the Cass chain is one of the busiest weekends we have here.  People come from all around the country to get the first crack at the illusive walleye.

June is the time to find trophy bluegills invading the shallows.  Northern pike action is good the first part of the month and tapers off as the summer heat sets in at the end of the month.  As the heat builds the musky season is now underway and providing folks with big fish action.  With the flies starting to hatch at the beginning of June walleye fishing is now better in the evening.

July brings hot weather and lots of musky action as well.  The May fly hatching is done for the most part and this brings a more consistent walleye bite back.  Jumbo perch are also in the mood to provide good action and good eating.

August swings in with some of the hottest action of the year for casting to musky. Walleye fishing is also at one of its highest points.

September starts to really get the fish going as they get a break from the heat and notice the shorter days. Musky and walleye are providing us with almost all day action as the water gets cooler.  This cooling also gets the big pike fired up as well.

October and November are prime trophy hunting months for open water pigs. It is very cold at times so our trips consist of more trolling then casting.  If you want to catch a huge musky, pike or walleye on rod and reel now is the time to be here.

December is the beginning of our ice fishing season and we generally have ice fishing houses out by mid month. Early ice is prime time for those first walleye, pike and jumbo perch.
